SINGAPORE: Healing from the loss of someone who truly matters to you might take a very long time for some of us, and grief always comes and goes, whether we like it or not. In these cases, people are trying their best to cope and accept the situation in ways that they can, hoping to ease the pain and continue to move forward.

On Reddit, a netizen curiously asked others their ways to cope with the sadness, especially when they remember the people that they love who passed away. The netizen shared that her friend passed away two years ago, and every year he/she is reminded of how fragile life is.

“How do you cope with this sadness that lives deep in your soul?” the netizen posted.

With this, many netizens shared their thoughts, opinions, and own experiences in the comments section. One commented that he/she hangs on to the people that are still present in his/her life, and pours into them the love and care that he/she can provide.

“You let that grief sit with you for a bit. Then, you thank it, and you go about your day... until the next visit,” another comment claimed.

For some, it is turning their grief and loss into something that may serve and nurture others, inspired by the impact that was given by the person who passed away in their lives.

“Never forget them; people only truly die when they're forgotten. But do not burden yourself to the point you're overly coping with memories of them; that would be disrespectful to them,” a commenter remarked.

“I started believing in the afterlife and took comfort in the fact that they just left this realm for another. I still talk to them, write to them, and believe they can hear and see me. Maybe they can’t be with me in their physical self, but that doesn’t mean they’re gone forever. And when it’s my time, I’ll join them wherever they are,” a netizen concluded.
