Singapore – Every online seller knows that there will always come a time for ridiculous requests from customers. Ms. Alvina Lee experienced a situation that fits into that category when she was demanded to bubble wrap an order of 2 angpaos worth S$1. It would seem like a joke, but the customer was dead serious in expecting her order to be bubble wrapped. Ms. Alvina shared her story via two Facebooks posts placed in SG Online Shopping – Singapore’s Largest Buy & Sell Network group. She posts: [caption id="attachment_116354" align="aligncenter" width="666"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] This is how the conversation went: [caption id="attachment_116377" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116376" align="aligncenter" width="648"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116375" align="aligncenter" width="666"]Photo: Facebook screengrab Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ms. Arabelle blames the seller for the reason bubble wrap cannot be offered. [caption id="attachment_116374" align="aligncenter" width="654"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] But Ms. Arabelle was not done yet. She starts asking for a refund when she received the two envelopes because they were “damaged” when in reality, the edge got creased. [caption id="attachment_116373" align="aligncenter" width="650"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116372" align="aligncenter" width="638"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116371" align="aligncenter" width="658"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ms. Arabelle considers an envelope to be "sooo thin and breakable" which is why it merits bubble wrap. [caption id="attachment_116370" align="aligncenter" width="648"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116369" align="aligncenter" width="648"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116367" align="aligncenter" width="652"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ms. Arabelle and Alvina go into a long conversation wherein the former even insulted the latter to use her brain and think twice or thrice. [caption id="attachment_116366" align="aligncenter" width="640"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ms. Arabelle then starts asking how many items Ms. Alvina has sold. [caption id="attachment_116365" align="aligncenter" width="660"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116364" align="aligncenter" width="646"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] When Ms. Alvina answers that she is a respected seller, somehow Ms. Arabelle sees it as an arrogant gesture and comments “so proud” directed to Ms. Alvina. She will even pray for Ms. Alvina. [caption id="attachment_116363" align="aligncenter" width="644"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] [caption id="attachment_116362" align="aligncenter" width="654"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] The second post and conversation can be accessed below: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=2231059823800210&set=pcb.2076226865823326&type=3&theater&ifg=1 How did the purchase look to Ms. Arabelle? [caption id="attachment_116361" align="aligncenter" width="576"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ms. Arabelle must really love bubble wrap. Netizens are joining in on the path of trying to understand what the logic behind the buyer’s request could be. Angie Saw is guessing that maybe Ms. Arabelle wanted to play with or sleep using bubble wrap? [caption id="attachment_116360" align="aligncenter" width="948"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Ilah MrsRasidi advises to just go to an actual shop and buy angpao if the quality is a priority. [caption id="attachment_116359" align="aligncenter" width="938"] Photo: Facebook screengrab[/caption] Turns out other online sellers remember Ms. Arabelle and share their stressful experiences in dealing with the picky buyer. People are also giving their respect to Ms. Alvina for being patient enough to entertain and reply to Ms. Alvina’s requests.
