“Who is more in the wrong?” a Facebook post caption asked after a vehicle driver bumps into a pedestrian taking his own sweet time walking in the middle of the driveway. The video uploaded by SG Road Vigilante on May 19 showed a shopper pushing a trolley back to its proper area but decided to take the driveway instead of the designated paths beside him. And who do you think is more in the wrong?” asked Facebook page ROADS.sg, noting the incident happened on May 19 at Clementi West Street 2. Netizens shared varying opinions on the video, with many noting that as long as motorists use their vehicles to push or knock a pedestrian, they are immediately in the wrong in the eyes of the law. “Doesn't matter how slowly he walked. You mean you gonna run down anyone who doesn't move fast enough in front of you?” asked Facebook user Alvin Ong. “It is still a rash act no matter what. Using a car to hit a pedestrian, no matter who is at fault, is always crazy. Don't play play, go jail one,” added Facebook user Joseph He Jun Xian. Meanwhile, netizens also highlighted that the pedestrian was jaywalking. “Pedestrians should give way to the car. There is no zebra crossing on the road. Pedestrian behaved like yaya papaya,” said Facebook user Jeffrey Ong. “Some pedestrians really…the other day, I encountered two ladies in a carpark who kept moving forward and backward, undecided as to whether to cross or not,” shared Facebook user Illeana Isabella. “I already drove very slowly to let them cross, and as I got nearer, one of them finally decided to do so so.....very slowly.
