Civil servants to get a month’s bonus, lower-paid ones to get $500 extra

  Singapore — Civil servants here will receive a year-end bonus of a month’s pay, in recognition of their sustained hard work amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Lower-wage civil servants — in grades equivalent to MX15 and MX16, and in OSS Grades III to V — will also receive an extra one-time payment of $500. Read more here.

COVID-19 | New S. African variant causes surge, SG sets travel ban on 7 African countries

  Singapore — A new Covid-19 variant was detected by scientists in South Africa on Thursday (Nov 25), noting it had a large number of mutations and is responsible for the surge in infections in the country. Singer Coco Lee’s 83-year-old mum on the road to recovery after wild boar attack in October

Coco Lee updated her Facebook account on Nov 24 about the condition of Mama Lee. The elderly woman was seriously injured. She had fractures on her disc bones and elbows. Fortunately, Mama Lee is getting better after five hours of surgery and more than a month of rehab. Read more here.
