By: Kheng-Liang Tan According to the Jakarta Post, 67 year-old Singaporean Mohamed Isa bin Omar was found dead in a Batam hotel room yesterday (Sept 6). The hotel receptionist, only known as Lindawati, said that a rotting odour had started to emanate from his fourth floor room before they broke into his room and found his body. Previously, a police report was filed after Isa had not been seen for a few days after having stayed at the hotel for the past two weeks. He is understood to have booked a long-term stay at the hotel. Police investigators then conducted a crime scene investigation and brought the body to Bhayangkara Police Hospital for an autopsy.
Batam police are still investigating the cause of death.
