Singapore ranks among top 4 in Asia for gym selfies posted to Instagram

Singapore – When you go to the gym, do you automatically take a selfie and post it to Instagram? It seems that a lot of people in Singapore do just that. If you're one of the gang, you won't be surprised to know that a recent study by SportsShoes found that  Instagram users here have elevated Singapore to the ranks of the top four Asian countries that post Gym Selfies. Or perhaps gym users were making up for lost time after the extended closure of gyms and other sports facilities during the pandemic. In the study, SportsShoes said that about three million Instagram posts with the  #gymselfie hashtag alone. SportsShoes assumes that taking a selfie shot is now just part of going to the gym and working out. SportsHoes then analysed TInstagram data by gym-related hashtags  to work out where in the world  the most gym selfies are posted. So here are the the top 10 Asian Cities that show off the most gym selfies:

2. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
3. Jakarta, Indonesia
4. Singapore, Singapore
5. Bangkok, Thailand
6. Hong Kong, Hong Kong
7. Mumbai, India
8. Delhi, India
9. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
10. Osaka, Japan

SportsShoes says: "Residents of Singapore have cemented their place as the fourth most likely gym-goers to post a selfie in the whole of Asia, with 10,732 posts under gym-related hashtags."  It didn't, however, note if these shots were all preenworthy. While working out in the gym can;t be bad,  it's best to be stay updated on staying safe and healthy. And it wouldn't hurt to pay attention to Safe Management Measures on using indoor sports facilities. Even as you preen for those gym selfies. Of the measures detailed in the report, here are some of the important guidelines to keep in mind:

1. Group activities are allowed for up to five people, including the trainer or coach, if any
2. Maintain safe distancing of two metres.
3. Avoid intermingling in restrooms and other common areas
4. For the time being, no more than 50 people can be admitted to any facility  at any spoint in time.
5. Masks must  be worn, by default. They may be removed when performing strenuous activity, but must be put on immediately afterwards.
6. Minimise sharing of sports equipment.
