Singapore ranks among top 4 in Asia for gym selfies posted to Instagram
Singapore – When you go to the gym, do you automatically take a selfie and post it to Instagram? It seems that a lot of people in Singapore do just that.
If you're one of the gang, you won't be surprised to know that a recent study by SportsShoes found that Instagram users here have elevated Singapore to the ranks of the top four Asian countries that post Gym Selfies.
Or perhaps gym users were making up for lost time after the extended closure of gyms and other sports facilities during the pandemic.
In the study, SportsShoes said that about three million Instagram posts with the #gymselfie hashtag alone. SportsShoes assumes that taking a selfie shot is now just part of going to the gym and working out.
SportsHoes then analysed TInstagram data by gym-related hashtags to work out where in the world the most gym selfies are posted.
So here are the the top 10 Asian Cities that show off the most gym selfies:
- Dubai, United Arab Emirates
- Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
- Jakarta, Indonesia
- Singapore, Singapore
- Bangkok, Thailand
- Hong Kong, Hong Kong
- Mumbai, India
- Delhi, India
- Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Osaka, Japan
- Group activities are allowed for up to five people, including the trainer or coach, if any
- Maintain safe distancing of two metres.
- Avoid intermingling in restrooms and other common areas
- For the time being, no more than 50 people can be admitted to any facility at any spoint in time.
- Masks must be worn, by default. They may be removed when performing strenuous activity, but must be put on immediately afterwards.
- Minimise sharing of sports equipment.
