M’sia man carrying gigantic teh-o packet becomes viral TikTok trend, new way to beat the heat
Kuala Lumpur – While the most random things go viral on social media platforms, one in particular – sipping from a gigantic bag of ice teh o – appears to have a specific function, thus becoming a new trend on TikTok.
Taking a sip from an ice-cold drink is a guaranteed way to cool down during hot and humid weather. However, drink containers made of 80 per cent ice can only last for so long.
A Malaysian man who has taken things into his own hands, literally, was spotted carrying a giant plastic bag filled with teh o (black tea without any addition of dairy products or creamers).
The video, posted on Jan 7 by TikTok user @brokekbatik, shows a man in a red shirt walking in slow motion while carrying the bag, complete with an oversized makeshift straw and a strap made of string that hung around his shoulder.

A TikToker improvised with his version, holding a giant bag of lemon iced tea, which included two whole lemons.

As the trend went viral, a speciality tea outlet saw the opportunity to do some witty marketing, featuring their staff holding the gigantic bags of tea.

The shop took things a step further and offered a sturdier packaging option for potential customers – a round water bottle container typically offered by the gallon.
