Singapore — On Saturday (Feb 5) Instagram influencer Irene Zhao was featured in The Sun for having made more than £4million in ten days by selling NFTs. 

“And even Logan Paul has bought her collection,” the piece added. Paul, who hails from the US, is one of YouTube’s biggest stars, with over 23.4 million followers.

The Straits Times mistakes China as the first country to host both Summer & Winter Olympics

Beijing is indeed the first city to hold both the Summer and Winter Olympics, but it is not the first country to host both Games. The United States holds the record for holding both the Games in different cities of its country. In Asia, Japan has held both Games a total of four times. The Straits Times newspaper (Feb 5) however wrongly titled an article as “China first to host both Summer and Winter Games”. Read more here. 

‘U only do this once a year’ — Netizens school newly-wed who resents giving away ang paos

Singapore — A newly-wed wife lamented over having to give ang paos this holiday season, writing on the NUS Whispers Facebook page on Sunday (Feb 6) that she can’t wait until Feb 15, when the season ends.

And while some online commenters, including social media influencer DJ Jade Rasif, were sympathetic toward the young bride, given the current economic climate, others reminded her what a blessing it is to be able to give to others.

S’pore hospitals seeing high number of patients at emergency departments, public advised seeking ED treatment for serious cases only

Singapore — The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced on Sunday (Feb 6) that Singapore hospitals are seeing a high number of patients at Emergency Departments (EDs), resulting in long queues and waiting times. “Most of the patients at the hospitals’ EDs did not require emergency care, and such unnecessary visits to the EDs risk compromising the standard of care for other patients who genuinely require emergency medical care,” said MOH in a press statement.
