Letter: How many more cases of reckless driving before LTA brings back the spending beacon atop or behind commercial vehicles?

Please have LTA bring back the over 70km/h beacon, so others behind with a dashcam can submit footage to the traffic police of speeding commercial vehicles especially those with our precious school children entrusted in their care.

The traffic police will only have to monitor our roads to see such speeding vans each morning between 6.30 to 7 am and on busy roads such as Lornie highway from Bishan to Adam road.

The excuse of adding 3 inches preventing such commercial vehicles from entering height limited car parks can easily and better be circumvented with rear mounted beacons which also facilitate recording by road cameras n dash cams.

Please reconsider before we have any fatalities
