Flyer in Malaysia seen hiring staff for Changi Airport, netizen says "Even SG organisations prefer to hire foreigners than S'poreans"
A flyer in Malaysia that was spotted hiring for Changi Airport drew many negative comments from Singaporeans, who were worried that even local organisations preferred to hire foreigners over homegrown talents.
In a post to public group Umbrage Singapore, a netizen by the name of Gordon Liew wrote: "Even SG organizations prefer to hire foreigners than SGians. This is caring for SGians".
Along with his post, he shared the photo of a recruitment poster for Changi Airport. It was looking to hire sales assistants or customer service specialists.
They would only have to work four days a week and earn a salary of S$3,000+ or RM 10,000. Interviews were held at Holiday Inn Hotel in Johor Bahru.
Netizens who commented on the post wondered why locals were not hired and why the hiring was not done in Singapore.
