Expensive or normal price? S$6.20 for meal at Jurong West

A customer took to social media to ask the public if paying S$6.20 for a meal at a coffeeshop was considered expensive or reasonable. If you cannot afford it, please jolly well stay at home and cook yourself,” said Facebook user Finn Winnie. “This is so reasonable. If u eat nasi padang stall with this full drumstick, it already costs S$4,” noted Facebook user Aishah AP. One Yan Zi explained that cooking the same ingredients at home would also be costly. “Aiyo, not expensive lah. You got a whole full drumstick leg, broccoli (expensive veg) & 6 pcs of jap tauhu, leh. If you cook, your cooking oil, ingredients & seasoning also add up to this amount & don’t forget; you still need to use water to wash your utensils & wok...involves $$ also.” Another netizen noted he purchased a similar dinner and was charged more. “Considered cheap already!! Yesterday I bought dinner for my daughter from Cantine at Jurong Point, nasi padang…I put chicken sambal and mix veggie, cost me S$9.50.” Meanwhile, others noted that the price at the stall was known to be on the expensive side, but the food also tasted good. “If it’s good, then it’s worth the price.
