Crimewatch staff sneak in names like "Chee***" and "Lan***" in television episode
Words that refer to male and female genitalia were spotted in a list that was featured in a Crimewatch episode. Telecast on free-to-air Mediacorp channels, Crimewatch is a television programme produced by the National Crime Prevention Council and the Singapore Police Force that showcases the work of the local police.
Having been telecast regularly since 1986, Crimewatch is now available in the four major languages in Singapore: English, Malay, Chinese, and Tamil. The show is presented by serving regular police officers and features solved cases, appeals for unsolved cases, as well as crime prevention advice.
A keen Crimewatch fan, reddit user u/GreetingsGamblers, chanced upon the unsavoury words "chee***" and "lan****" when he was rewatching Crimewatch episodes that were telecast in 2013:
